From the HBA Parade of Homes:
This 1970’s home was begging for a modern update. The original floor plan didn’t meet the active lifestyle of the owners and was functionally outdated. Brenda at B-Squared Design Studio offered professional advise and visualization services to assist the owners in designing their dream home by incorporating their vision of bringing nature inside and their desire for resort style living.
Key features of the home included updating the exterior for curb appeal; adding a family room addition to take advantage of the river frontage and adding an area off the master suite as a multi purpose area for working out, laundry and that all important dog wash for their river loving furry family member.
A welcoming entrance was created with a new front door location and by incorporating a Thermatru door from Dewitt Lumber. Once you enter the home the spectacular river view is immediately visible through the large Pella Reserve Contemporary Lifestyle windows that are featured through out the home with blinds and custom draperies from Soft Furnishings and Creative Interiors.
A large kitchen island for entertaining and Wolf appliances from LJ’s Kitchens and Interiors created a chef’s dream kitchen. The floor to ceiling cabinets are riftcut oak from Pinnacle Cabinets. To finish off the design Cambria Brittanica Gold Cool quartz from Dewitt Lumber was installed on the counter tops and back splash.
The owners active lifestyle included a wishlist for healthy living. The addition of the workout area and a Finnleo infrared and steam combination sauna brought that touch of functionality combined with luxury living.
The modern tile designs for the Mendota gas fireplace surround, master bath, guest bath and dog wash were provided by Assman’s Inc.
Mid State Electric Inc provided the latest lighting technology with fixtures from Modern Forms and WAC lighting. Custom Heating and Plumbing made sure the home is warm and cozy during the winter months and cool in the summer with patio heaters and the latest zoned and smart technology from Carrier.
The home features French Oak hardwood floors from the Bella Borghesse collection and purchased from Mt Pleasant Floor Covering. A barn style sliding glass door to provide work from home office privacy was installed by Steer glass.
And the final vision became a reality with architectural touches and furniture design services from Lisa Lee at Wendel’s Home Interiors located inside Big Sandy’s Super Store. This home is the perfect example of how B-Squared Design Studio can take a home that no longer meets todays living style and transform the foot print to perfectly fit the owners dreams.
